My second episode of Dark Angel, in Cold Comfort i had no idea what was going on! I understood who Lydecker was (because i had seen Prodigy), but i don't think i knew who Zack was, and i know that i didn't know who Brin was. The most memorable aspect of Cold Comfort for me was Lydecker's A.A. meeting. For some reason i was never able to hate Deck, and i think that it's partly because of this episode... He's an arogant bastard but he's a loveable one. I hardly remember the ep (a little about Max and Zack, a little about Jam Pony), but it enabled me to have compassion for Lydecker and realize that he wasn't really a monster, that he was only Human and trying to survive. Ultimately i think that it shows that no matter how hard he was on his "kids," he still was only trying to do what was best for them (in his own twisted way). He was their drill instructor, and as every drill instructor knows, you have to tear them down before you can build them up. In a way, i wish that he would have had that chance. p.s. The real reason i started watching Dark Angel? My good friend and e-mail penpal Founder wouldn't stop raving about the show and i had just seen John Savage on Star Trek Voyager in "Equinox." | ||
